An evening with Patrick Ness

We’re delighted to host Patrick Ness at Waterstones Liverpool to celebrate the publication of Different for Boys. Ideal reading for all fans of Heartstopper and Casey McQuiston, this witty, relatable and sensitively handled LGBTQ+ novel from the author of the Chaos Walking trilogy finds likeable Ant navigating his radically different relationships with a trio of boys. The evening will be in-conversation with bestselling author, Benjamin Dean.

Patrick Ness is the award-winning and bestselling author of the Chaos Walking trilogy, which inspired a major motion picture. He is also the author of critically acclaimed novels A Monster Calls, More Than This, Release, The Rest of Us Just Live Here, And the Ocean Was Our Sky and Burn. He has won every major prize in children’s fiction, including the Carnegie Medal twice. He has also written the screenplay for the film version of A Monster Calls and Class, the BBC Doctor Who drama.

Please note: Book and ticket option includes a copy of Different for Boys (RRP £12.99) for collection on the night.

Benjamin Dean is a full-time author with a background in celebrity journalism. He has interviewed a host of glitzy celebrities and broke the news that Rihanna can't wink (she blinks, in case you were wondering). His award-winning middle-grade debut, ME, MY DAD AND THE END OF THE RAINBOW, was described as 'One of the most joyful books you'll read this year' (The Bookseller), and he's since gone on to publish THE SECRET SUNSHINE PROJECT and THE KING IS DEAD. Benjamin can be found on Twitter as @notagainben tweeting about Rihanna and LGBTQ+ culture to his 10,000+ followers.
