Join us for a very special digital event with international bestselling author Ken Follett, as he speaks to Ed Balls about his new novel Never on the evening before its publication.

Spanning the globe in a hugely ambitious, panoramic epic of impending apocalypse, Ken Follett’s first contemporary thriller for over a decade dissects the power plays and geopolitical crises that could lead to World War III.

More than a thriller, this immersive tour de force from a world-renowned author at the top of his game imagines a scenario we all hope never comes true, and one which will keep you transfixed until the final page.

Ken Follett is a thriller and historical fiction writer, whose works are phenomenal bestsellers around the world. After a run of espionage novels, including The Key to Rebecca and The Man from St. Petersburg, Follett changed tack with the historical epic The Pillars of the Earth in 1989. This multi-generational story then continued with two sequels, and a prequel, The Evening and the Morning, was published in 2020.

Ken Follett will be in conversation with Ed Balls, broadcaster, writer and economist. A former member of Parliament, he is currently a Professor of Political Economy at King’s College London and a Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School. Ed’s new book, Appetite: a Memoir in Recipes of Family and Food was published by Simon & Schuster in August 2021 and is a Sunday Times Top Ten bestseller.
