An Evening with Kathrine Sowerby & Gerry Loose
Thursday 13th September 19:30 at Glasgow - Byres Road
Gerry Loose is a poet concerned with the natural world, whose texts are as often found in gardens and other natural settings as on the page.
Expressive, formally inventive, Loose's seventh full collection night exposures lives right into its title: shining light into murky and overlooked corners which some might wish to be kept in the dark.
Kathrine Sowerby is a writer living in Glasgow. She has an MFA from Glasgow School of Art, an MLitt in Creative Writing from Glasgow University, and she won a 2013 New Writers Award from the Scottish Book Trust. Her poems, stories and translations have been published widely in journals and anthologies.
Kathrine Sowerby animates a world we ignore, she reinvents a world with a compelling internal logic. With her repetitions, revisitings, recurrences and restatings of that logic, her unique, fresh and dislocating world is made solid.
