An Evening with Henry Normal
Tuesday 20th November 18:30 at Nottingham
Many poets can make you cry, many more can make you laugh, but few can put you in the awkward position of having to do both at the same time. Henry's lithe verse can flex from madcap hilarity to razor-sharp poignancy in the space of a few beats.
He will be joining us on stage in the Sillitoe Room at Waterstones Nottingham to read a selection of poems from his two latest collections, The Department of Lost Wishes and This Phantom Breath.
Henry Normal is a screen-writer, film producer and poet. As the MD of Baby Cow Productions, some of his most famous screen credits include The Royle Family, Red Dwarf and Philomena. The Nottingham-born writer also launched the Manchester Poetry Festival and the Nottingham Poetry Festival.
Illuminating any subject from science and cosmology to family, and introspective thoughts about life and death, his poems are often moving, poignant and hilarious.
Your ticket price is redeemable against a purchase of any of Henry's books on the night, please ask a bookseller for more information.
