An evening with Elena Armas

New from the author of The Spanish Love Deception and The American Roommate Experiment, this smalltown tale follows Adalyn, a disgraced soccer exec trying in vain to save a local junior team. Helping this ragtag group of nine-year-olds is her road to redemption, but retired goalkeeping prodigy Cameron, with whom Adalyn made a less-than-great first impression, is determined to run her out of town.

Adalyn thinks Cameron is a surly, scowling brute. Cameron thinks Adalyn needs to take life less seriously. Despite their differences, the two need to play nice and remember they’re on the same team. After all, it’s a long game…

Elena Armas is a Spanish writer, self-confessed hopeless romantic and proud book hoarder. Now, she's also the author of Sunday Times and New York Times bestsellers The Spanish Love Deception and The American Roommate Experiment. Her books are being translated to over 30 languages–which is bananas, if you ask her.

Elena will be chatting to us about her work and answering audience questions, followed by a signing. The evening will be in conversation with Lucy Vine.

Lucy Vine is a really brilliant author, a decent journalist, and a big fan of Oxford commas. She's the bestselling author of novels, Hot Mess, What Fresh Hell, Are We Nearly There Yet? and Bad Choices, published with Orion. Her fifth book, Seven Exes, with Simon & Schuster, published in May 2023, with book 6 scheduled summer 2024. Her books have been bought in 17 territories - including the US, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, Denmark, Serbia, Japan, the Netherlands. Czech, Poland, Russia, Slovenia, Finland, Slovakia, Sweden - with Hot Mess opentioned for a TV series in America. Hot Mess and Are We Nearly There Yet? have both been longlisted for the very brilliant Comedy Women In Print book award.
