An Evening with Ece Temelkuran
Thursday 18th May 2017
19:00 - 20:30 at Waterstones, London - Piccadilly
Join us for this very special evening with Turkish author and commentator, Ece Temelkuran, whose extraordinary new novel, Women Who Blow on Knots, is published this month by Parthian.
Women Who Blow on Knots has sold over 120,000 copies in Turkey - creating quite a phenomenon.
It chronicles a voyage from Tunisia to Lebanon undertaken by three young women and septuagenarian Madam Lilla. Although they all embark on the journey for different reasons, each holding a dark secret, it is only at the point of no return that Lilla's own murderous motivations for the trip becomes clear.
Unique and controversial for its political rhetoric and strong Muslim female characters, this remarkable novel weaves an empowering tale that questions politics, religion and women in the Middle East.
