An Evening with Bill Beverly and Mick Herron
Tuesday 23rd May 18:30 - 20:00 at London - Covent Garden
The Crime Writers’ Association Gold Dagger Award is a definitive mark of the major league. Every year, the world’s biggest names and finest works are compiled and considered, read and revered, to compete for Best Crime Novel – and the sheer wealth of killer talent at hand makes winning no easy feat.
On 23rd May, to celebrate the announcement of this year’s longlist, Waterstones Covent Garden brings together two gleaming Gold Dagger recipients – Bill Beverly and Mick Herron – to discuss all things crime with resident Telegraph crime critic Jake Kerridge.
Bill Beverly, who won the coveted award last year (plus the Debut Dagger to boot) authored phenomenal debut Dodgers, recently shortlisted for Crime and Thriller Book of the Year at the British Book Awards 2017 and hailed by Donald Ray Pollock as ‘one of the greatest literary crime novels you will read in your lifetime’; Mick Herron, to match, garnered the gong in 2013 for the wickedly clever Dead Lions, named by the Sunday Times as one of the top crime novels of the past 25 years. Its’ follow-up, Real Tigers, was shortlisted for both the Gold and Steel Daggers at last year’s awards, and the latest instalment – Spook Street – is available now.
