An Evening with Alex Michaelides

Join acclaimed author of The Silent Patient and Cambridge-set The Maidens Alex Michaelides as he celebrates the publication of The Fury – a compelling closed community thriller, as a former movie star throws a select party on a private Greek island whilst a murderer lurks in the shadows.

He will be in conversation with Sophie Hannah bestselling writer and Course Director of MSt in Crime and Thriller Writing at the Institute of Continuing Education at the University of Cambridge.

Alex Michaelides was born in Cyprus to an English mother and a Greek-Cypriot father. He has an M.A. in English from Trinity College, Cambridge University, and an M.A. in Screenwriting from the American Film Institute in Los Angeles. The Silent Patient, his first novel, was a Sunday Times bestseller, and debuted at no. 1 on the New York Timesbestseller list, and has sold more than 7.5 million copies worldwide. The rights have been sold in a record-breaking 50 countries and it has been optioned for film by Plan B. His second novel, The Maidens, was an instant Sunday Times and New York Timesbestseller and has been optioned for television by Miramax Television and Stone Village.

 

Sophie Hannah is a Sunday Times and New York Times bestselling writer of crime fiction. Her books have sold millions of copies worldwide.Sophie has recently helped to create a Master’s Degree in Crime and Thriller Writing at the University of Cambridge, for which she is the main teacher and Course Director. She is also the founder of the Dream Author coaching programme for writers. She lives with her husband, children and dog in Cambridge, where she is an Honorary Fellow of Lucy Cavendish College.
