An Evening of Historical Romps with Anna-Marie Crowhurst and Anna James

Thursday 26th July 18:30 at London - Gower Street

PLEASE NOTE: THIS EVENT IS CANCELLED
Join the debut author of one of 2018’s most hotly anticipated historical novels, The Illumination of Ursula Flight, for an evening in the glittering world of Restoration theatre. Over a glass of wine, Anna-Marie Crowhurst will be speaking to journalist and writer Anna James about her new book, as well as exploring why a good historical romp delights, excites and entices its readers…

Praised by The Times as ‘deliciously pert’ and ‘thoroughly original’, The Illumination of Ursula Flight is a spectacular romp through 17th century London, which tells the story of wannabe actress and playwright Ursula Flight. Growing up with her family in the country, she is educated by a forward-thinking father who enables her to discover a love of reading, writing and astrology. Ursula dreams of becoming a famous playwright, but is devastated to learn she must instead fulfil her family's expectations and marry. Trapped and lost, Ursula plots her escape. As her's dangerous desires play out, both on and off the stage, she's flung into a giddy world of actors, aristocrats and artistic endeavours which will change her life irrevocably.

ALL TICKETS INCLUDE A GLASS OF WINE. BUY ONLINE, IN STORE OR BY PHONING 020 7636 1577.
