A Treasury of Books: An Evening with Tomi Ungerer in conversation with Julia Eccleshare

Waterstones Piccadilly are honoured to be joined by the legendary Tomi Ungerer, celebrating the release of A Treasury of 8 Books, the first-ever compendium of eight classic picture books including behind-the-scenes material by the iconic author-illustrator.

Tomi Ungerer is considered one of the great masters of children’s literature and illustration, known for breaking taboos and pushing boundaries in his work, earning the admiration of fellow children’s icons such as Maurice Sendak, Eric Carle and Shel Silverstien. He is a winner of the prestigious Hans Christian Andersen Award, and has work exhibited globally, including a museum entirely dedicated to his art and writing in Strasbourg, France.

‘Tomi is a spectacular graphic genius.’ – Maurice Sendak

Don’t miss this incredible opportunity to hear the man himself discussing his work and inspirations with journalist, Julia Eccleshare.

Tickets are £5 and can be purchased in store, by phone on 020 7851 2400 or reserved by emailing [email protected]. Tickets are redeemable against the price of A Treasury of 8 Books when purchased at the event; please note these will already be signed by Tomi and he will not be signing books after the event.
