A Summer Evening with Holly Bourne – in conversation with Tanya Byrne

Wednesday 14th July 2021
19:30 at Waterstones, Online Events

Join us for this special online event with the Queen of YA,
Holly Bourne, the best-selling author of many YA books including the ground-breaking Spinster Club series and the Sunday Times best-selling adult novel, How Do You Like Me Now?

In conversation with Tanya Byrne, author of the much-anticipated upcoming YA novel Afterlove, Holly will talk about her 10th YA novel, The Yearbook, and you’ll even get the chance to put your own questions to this best-selling author at this special event.

Tickets £5 General Admission / £11 including a Signed Exclusive Edition of The Yearbook (P&P included)

The Yearbook. The Dramas, the traumas, the rumours – it’s time to expose all…

Working on the school newspaper, Paige is used to dealing with fake stories. How popular girl Grace is an amazing person (lie). How Laura steals people’s boyfriends (lie). How her own family are so perfect (lie).

Now Grace and friends have picked their “best” high-school moments for Paige to put in the all-important Yearbook. And they’re not just fake. There’re poison. But Paige has had enough of all the lies in her life. And with the help of Elijah – the only boy who could ever understand her – she’s going to reveal the truth, whatever the cost…

Holly Bourne’s books are inspired by young people, her own experiences of blatant everyday sexism, and her passion for getting everyone talking about the importance of mental health. Holly’s YA novels have sold over half a million copies across all English editions, have been shortlisted for the YA Book Prize three times, featured on the BBC Radio 2 Book Club and nominated for the Carnegie Medal.

Tanya Byrne is an award-winning author and freelance journalist who lives in Brighton. She has written three young adult novels, the first of which earned her a nomination for New Writer of the Year at the National Book Awards. She has also written for The Guardian and The Pool.
