Durham Book Festival is a Durham County Council event produced by New Writing North and is part of Durham County Council’s exciting festivals programme. The festival traditionally takes place in and around the beautiful city of Durham each October, with appearances from wide range of thinkers, writers and performers. Events at previous festivals have included appearances from Bernadine Evaristo, Philip Pullman, Jung Chang and Bill Bryson. The festival commissions and profiles new writing every year, as well as hosting the announcement of the Gordon Burn Prize.
In 2020, due to Covid-19, the festival will take place entirely online at durhambookfestival.com
