Related Product (RP) Buyer - Stationery

At Waterstones, ‘Related Product’ refers to any product that is not a book and encompasses the following categories: Greetings Cards, Calendars & Diaries, Children's products, Stationery, Games & Puzzles, Gift and Book Accessories.

Our RP buying team are fundamental to the success of Waterstones, their focus is to identify and create distinctive, credible ranges within these categories. The success of our RP sales is driven by a well curated product offer that enhances the bookshop environment, books must remain at the core of what we do and anything we add on top must be retailed intelligently and sympathetically, to create more interesting place for our customers to spend time and enrich their shopping experience with us.

To support this approach, we are looking for an experienced Assistant Buyer or Buyer who can work with our Senior Buyer to deliver a distinctive Stationery offer that can deliver our ambitious sales growth plans.

The ideal candidate will ideally have previous experience working within the Stationery category and a genuine interest in Waterstones. Top class organisation and planning skills, ideally gained within a small to medium retail environment. They will have the ability to communicate effectively and drive improvements through analytics and astute commercial understanding.

This is a full time role. You will be based in our Central London (Piccadilly) Head Office for part of the week, working with a friendly and hard-working bunch of people.

Junior Digital Creative

This is a great opportunity for an established Junior Creative to be part of the exciting, continued growth of Waterstones.com, as we strive to continually enhance the UI design and online experience for our customers.

In this role you will be working within a collaborative team on varied, fast-paced creative projects for all digital platforms across the business.

The ideal candidate will have a portfolio showcasing creative online art direction, artwork with commercial application, and photography and image manipulation.

This is a hybrid role based in the London Head Office enjoying a blend of office and remote working. The successful candidate will be required to travel to Piccadilly on a weekly basis.

Customer Service Advisor - Fixed Term until end of March 2023

Waterstones’ Customer Support team is one of the principle points of contact for our customers. Our work has proved crucial and we are enormously proud of our team and what they have been able to achieve under quite extraordinary conditions in the past few years. We keep our customers up to date via telephone, live chat, email and social media.

In preparation for our busiest and most important period of the year, we need to increase our headcount.

You will be working from home or shop based, supported by the CS team. Training will arrive via one of our experienced Team Leaders, individuals well equipped to take you toward the path to success.

QA Engineer

A fantastic opportunity to be part of the continued growth of Waterstones.com, as we strive to improve the online experience for our customers. We are looking for a QA engineer to join our e-Commerce team to assist in testing web, desktop and mobile applications to ensure high quality products and a seamless user experience.

You will have practical experience and knowledge in;

  • testing paradigms and processes
  • Agile, Iterative development process and methodologies
  • Test methodologies, tools and processes
  • Functional Testing and regression testing
  • Experience of Atlassian suite of tools (Jira & Confluence)
  • Experience of device testing for Web and Mobile applications
  • Experience in test automation, refactoring code, debugging, and testing frameworks

As well as being a team player with excellent collaboration skills you will have a strong sense of ownership and be able to handle multiple deadlines. This role requires a driven individual who has a passion for building robust systems.
