Reviews: Frida Kahlo: Little Guide to Great Lives (3)
“Lovely!”
This is a lovely, beautifully illustrated biography of Frida Kahlo. Aimed towards children/younger teens, this is a simple telling of her life, but it still conveys the darker aspects of her life- her illnesses, loneliness, and her heartbreaks are all told in order to understand the art she created.
I received a free copy of this in exchange for an honest review, and I'm so happy I did-this is a really beautiful book, and would make a perfect gift for any budding artist!

“Informative, inspiring and beautiful”
As a great admirer of Frida Kahlo, I was bound to love this book. And it exceeded my expectations. Colourful and expressive illustrations bring the story of Frida Kahlo to life for a younger readership without sugar coating the darker parts of her biography. The book tells of her accident, her heartache and her struggles, but ultimately, it's a celebration of her art and her way of processing life through art. I find the book really inspiring to be creative, to process feelings through art, to live a full life.
I was excited to receive a review copy of this book. Warm thanks, it has a special place on my shelf now.

“Great Guide to a Great Life!”
This small volume punches well above it's weight and price! Beautifully illustrated and well informed, this is a wonderful guide for children and adults alike. The timeline and glossary make it perfect for school projects. With this particular edition in the series parents and guardians may consider some content unsuitable for some younger children due to the difficult aspects of the Painter's life. Four and a half stars would closer reflect my appreciation of this title, which only fell below five as personally I would have liked the volume to include at least one reproduction of a Kahlo since it is the study of an artist.
