A lovely book to look at with some fun and unusual patterns. As the title indicates there are patterns for both mittens and socks. The book begins with a short foreword and description of techniques before the patterns begin. Each pattern begins with a skill level, size of the finished items then the yarn requirements and gauge of needles required. Following each pattern there are charts for right and left hands and at least one photograph of the finished item which I like as it is good to know what I'm aiming for. Though all of the patterns are rated for the experienced knitter I think it would be possible for a less experienced knitter to attempt patterns from this book by making basic mittens or socks but only putting pattern on a small initially until becoming more confident. Even for a confident knitter the patterns could seem overwhelming but once you sit down to knit they are simple enough line by line. With the range of patterns in this book and the endless colour changes possible this book will have a very long life indeed.-- Louise Waters * Customer review *
I love this book. I have been knitting socks for over 10 years but I have never come across such super patterns as are in this book. They are all explained in great detail with excellent diagrams. I shall have such fun knitting some of them for the whole family.-- Anthea Holloway * Customer review *

With ideas suited to a variety of skill levels, this colourful guide is both practical and fun.* Craft Focus Magazine, Issue 71 (Feb/March 2019) *
The patterns in this book are most definitely unique, from dogs and cats, to Jesus and skulls, all in stranded colourwork. While the patterns look complex, they all use only two colours per row and the charts are large and clear. While most of the patterns are given for only one size, they are not all the same shape and there are different ways of working the thumbs or the heels, which is useful. Various yarns are used but they are all described by their Craft Yarn Council standard yarn weight so it would be easy to substitute where the more difficult to obtain ones are used. Another book of fun things to knit and useful for making gifts.-- Rita Taylor * Slipknot Magazine (Issue 162) - March 2019 *
