This CD contains the first three Industrial Development Report plus background papers to the 2005 edition. The purpose of the publications is to build on development policy experience and contribute to a refinement of the international development agenda. They pay special attention to the current needs and capabilities of developing countries with the aim of raising awareness and assisting governments, intermediary institutions and civil society organisations. Subjects covered include: how to compare and monitor industrial performance and drivers with other countries in terms of a UNIDO Industrial Development Scoreboard; how to formulate, implement and monitor national strategies; policies for sustainable industrial development; how to use the global sources of technology and knowledge to develop domestic industrial capabilities; and, how to build competitive productive capabilities and upgrade them over time.
