Once upon a time there was a boy named Drew. Drew dribbled a lot. This wasn't normal, everyday dribbling, the odd globule of gob gloop running down your chin. Oh no, this was dribbling on an industrial scale.

Laureate of mischief and Number One bestselling author David Walliams presents The World’s Worst Children, a collection of ten short stories about five beastly boys and five gruesome girls.

Meet TV super-fan, Sofia Sofa, so stuck to the sofa that she’s turning into one; Dribbling Drew, a boy whose drool gets him into trouble; and Blubbering Bertha, a girl who bawls and tells terrible tales. Plus expect an appearance from everyone’s favourite character: Raj!

The World’s Worst Children may be Walliams’ most devious, mischievous and devilishly delightful book yet.

David Walliams burst onto the Children’s Literature scene with his riotously funny and touching 2008 debut, The Boy in The Dress. Over the course of nine books, all of which have been runaway successes, he has proved himself not only as a writer of hilarious children’s books – but a writer with a keen-eye for absurdity and an enormous capacity for empathy. Three of his books - Mr StinkGangsta Granny and Billionaire Boy - have been transformed into wildly popular BBC adaptations.

“A new Walliams!!”

SO excited to hear there's a new David Walliams on the way. Awful Auntie was great, Demon Dentist was fantastic and Billionaire Boy was just perfect. I can't wait to see what he's come up with next.

Made my whole family fall about with laughter . Audacious and hysterical, as always. The stories are a great length and are a joy to read aloud. We will be returning to them again and again. Five stars from me.
