A personal poetry collection, including poems inspired by a lifetime of adventure. Some poems are short and sweet, others more reflective. Poems cover themes from ageing, retirement and grief to the delights of her grandmother's hat, gardening, mermaids and Nordic walking sticks. Sandy Kealty is a poet, musician and performer. She writes poems in a direct, free-verse style, and this is her first published collection of poetry. From the author: 'They told me to write about the things that I know, so that is what I have done. In this book, I celebrate and reflect upon my own experiences and the people and places intimately connected to this lifelong voyage of discovery. Because I also came across pure imagination on the way, there may be some pieces of work where, however hard you try, you will recognise no person, living or departed, nor place identifiable on a satnav. However there will probably be elements that, should we be acquainted, will remind you of me.'

MEDIA REVIEWS
Sandy Kealty descended on the Dimbola At Homes exotically dressed, and a wonderful reciter of her pin sharp, comic and wise poetic diatribes of contemporary life. She is the poetic equivalent of a great cartoonist, eschewing jargon and pomposity, always with a funny but wise punch line, and particularly gifted at setting out a verbal picture that lingers in the mind long after the poem has ended. Yes, she is very taken with runner beans and dust, with clothes and memories and the joys and pitfalls of retirement. And in full control of rhyme and meter. But in print, the poems reveal great depth, indeed The Mermaid is Unimpressed revealed beside elements of fantasy and legend a personal history and a vein of melancholy and sadness. Sandy promised that her next collection would deal with caution, and motorbikes, and hip-hop, and now here it is. The Dimbola At Homes came to their natural conclusion, but Sandy Kealty marches on, and we are so proud that Mrs Camerons former temple of the arts, helped give her the confidence to develop these exact, comic and thought-provoking pieces. I feel that there is much more to come. Brian Hinton MBE, Chairman Julia Margaret Cameron Trust
