In 1900 the choirs of the numerous Welsh chapels on Merseyside joined together on the occasion of the National Eisteddfod of Wales being held in Liverpool. So successful was the united choir, it continued its existence as the Liverpool Welsh Choral Union. This account traces the choir over the course of its first 100 years, marking the changes that occurred as the choir adapted to the times and broadened its base. Along the way we meet famous composers and conductors who have been associated with the choir, we learn of the trials and tribulations which it faced, and we marvel at the achievement of making successful music for more than a century.
