Anthony Terlato's autobiography is the story of how post-Prohibition America grew to appreciate good wine. It begins with stacking boxes in his father's liquor store on the north side of Chicago, to joining his father-in-law's distribution company and growing it into a national force, to developing relationships with major wine luminaries like Alexis Lichine, Frank Schoonmaker, Angelo Gaja, Robert Mondavi, Baroness de Rothschild, and Michel Chapoutier, to ultimately acquiring and partnering in noted wineries on three continents. Terlato realized that helping people understand the link between fine dining and fine wine was the key to increasing their appreciation. His story is not the usual CEO narrative of climbing the corporate ladder, nor the usual winemaker's tale of pursuing perfection in a glass it paints in broad strokes the image of one individual having an enormous impact on American's wine-drinking habits."

MEDIA REVIEWS
"It's a nearly ubiquitous sight in Italian restaurants, and now [in his] autobiography [Terlato] tells how he introduced Santa Margherita pinot grigio to the United States."
-- H. Lee Murphy, "Crain's Chicago Business"
"One thing is for certain: Terlato knows a lot about wine."
--Sarah Tobol, "Brooklyn Eagle"
"This autobiography is a personable read in which Terlato talks about his close relationships with legends such as Alexis Lichine, Frank Schoonmaker, Robert Mondavi, Baroness Philippine de Rothschild, Michel Chapoutier and Angelo Gaja."
--Sandra Silfven, "Detroit News"
"This is no tell-all book, but Terlato often reveals much by what he doesn't write. You sense the inner steel and discipline that made him a success in a competitive business."
--Bill Daley, "Chicago Tribune"
"Terlato has cast a large shadow across Chicago's wine community for the better part of half a century...[and now] he has found time for recollection and reminiscence."
--William Rice, "Chicago Magazine"

"All autobiographies are intrinsically personal. Yet, this is also the story of how Americans over the last 50 years have come to know wine and how some of Terlato's business decisions have changed forever what we drink and why."--Bill Daley"Chicago Tribune" (12/10/2008)

"As a major player in bringing prestige wines here from the Old World and the New, Anthony "Tony" Terlato has cast a large shadow across Chicago's wine community for the better part of half a century. Now a senior statesman at 74, and with his two sons directing day-to-day operations of Terlato Wines International and the Terlato Wine Group, he has found time for recollection and reminiscence."--William Rice"Chicago magazine" (12/03/2008)
