A Professor of Creative Writing, former Booker Prize judge and regular contributor to broadsheet publications as a journalist and critic Philip Hensher is as used to casting his eye over the field of contemporary fiction as he is to contributing to it. Widely acclaimed as one of the most talented voices of his generation, he is best known for his semi-autobiographical novel The Northern Clemency and his committed promotion of the short story genre; in 2015 he edited the widely praised anthology The Penguin Book of the British Short Story.
