Waterstones Says

The funny, touching and crazy poetry of four-year-old Nadim is a revelation and, accompanied by gorgeous illustrations from Yasmeen Ismail and an insightful foreword by Kate Clanchy, make for an endlessly charming collection to treasure forever.

Everybody has love.
Even baddies.

The poems in this book beautifully capture how a four-year-old sees the world - a world of rainbows, glitter and magical boxes; a world of nursery, hometime and cuddles with Mum. They make for joyful reading and, paired with a foreword from poet and teacher Kate Clanchy, and wonderful pictures by Yasmeen Ismail, are an invitation for young readers to join in the fun...

By turns funny and charming, gentle and zany, Take Off Your Brave shows that poetry is for everyone - no matter how little you are!

MEDIA REVIEWS
Absolutely loved this book! My 4 year old really enjoyed the poems and it is really amazing that were created by a child's thoughts. The illustrations are beautiful and it is a lovely book to share. It is inspiring and I love the beauty of a child's perspective of his or her world. Will try creating a poem with my boys! -- Parent * Toppsta *

This is a lovely "keepsake" book. The concept and idea, that brings the book together, is sweet and encouraging. My daughter is four so upon reading it made me think of how she would describe her day to day feelings and experiences. It really inspires you to want to write them down and create something special.
For me, the illustrations really make this book and bring Nadim, his sister and nursery classes words to life. It is a real joy to see things through the eyes of a young child and for children it offers them a level to relate to.

The poems are fantastic because they share the world of a 4-year-old. They also beautifully demonstrate how our reflections can be poetry. Yasmeen Ismail's illustrations are wonderful, evocative, fun and colourful. * Juno *
I was blown away by these poems by Nadim... They deal with all kinds of subjects and emotions dear to this young child's heart, from having to leave his old teacher, Miss Angela, to being on a train, and what coming home feels like... It's a pleasure to read and the illustrations by Irish artist Yasmeen Ismail capture the joy and wonder of childhood perfectly. A real gem. * The Irish Independent *
Four-year-old Nadim gives an eloquent child's-eye view of the world in Take Off Your Brave, an evocative collection of poems on subjects close to a child's heart. * Daily Express, Daily Mirror, Daily Mirror NI, Irish Daily Mirror and Scottish Daily Express *
