Surface Tension is a unique collection of dark tales which delves deep into the undercurrents of human psychology. Ghosts, heavenly creatures and magic-beings haunt the characters, bringing messages of warning or redemption. They're delightful stories that charm and scare in equal measure.

MEDIA REVIEWS
'Half Life is quite something. I just loved Sarah's idea of what it means to be a ghost.' Tracy Chevalier, New York Times bestselling author 'Brilliant portrayal of a cruel disease.' Helena Frith Powell, international bestselling author 'Sarah writes beautifully and the sense of foreboding or unease is brilliantly conveyed. I've never read anything quite like it, although I'd suggest echoes of Mary Shelley or Edgar Allan Poe.' Clare Balding, award-winning broadcaster, journalist and author

“A twist in every story. ”

A very well written selection of short stories. The stories are brought to life through the excellent use of language. They are dark and thought provoking with a feel of Victorian feel. Well worth a read.

I've always really like short stories, ever since my introduction to them through the writings of Neil Gaiman whilst studying for my degree in Creative Writing. This is a fantastic collection from a debut author,... More
