Waterstones Says

Never before published in a standalone volume, Beatrix Potters’ delightfully dark adaptation of the original fairy tale is perfectly complemented by the light and shade of Helen Oxenbury’s magical pictures. A rediscovered gem from the illustrious Potter archive.

"Once upon a time there was a village child who was so pretty - so pretty as never was seen ..."

So begins Beatrix Potter's retelling of Red Riding Hood. Filled with the delicious darkness of the original classic fairy tale - and some trademark Potter wit and flourishes - this book is brilliantly brought to life with artwork by one of the world's greatest illustrators, Helen Oxenbury.

“Quite the retelling!”

This is of course beautifully illustrated though out and a delight to own whether you are young or old.

“Not just for fans of Beatrix Potter, but...........”

If you love Beatrix Potter, you will love this retelling of the French original. She wrote it a long time ago, and as such, some of the language appears a little old-fashioned. When reading it to a child you may want... More
