Through a practical, hands-on approach, with illustrations and sketches, the emphasis here is on being user-friendly. The aim is to help students master techniques used for physiological tests in the medical and paramedical fields. Inclusion of questions and mini-assignments is to encourage interactive learning. For each test the preparation of the patient, the factors influencing body functions and affecting test counts are given. Detail is also given to laboratory processing and the computing of test results. A user-friendly approach is applied to the mathematical calculations used. Discussion of research methods and the reliabilty of data is included, particularly in view of the physiological mechanisms involved when a living organism is subjected to experiments.
