This collection of essays is concerned with the consequences of population change for present and future social and economic policy towards such questions as employment, education, and health care, as well as the spatial and temporal variations in demand that arise from both demographic and geographical differences. The book argues that there is a need for greater sensitivity about population change in policy-making and service provision and suggests ways of achieving this goal.
