This book is the culmination of an exciting project to involve all the children of Peterborough in the Peterborough Green Festival. Children from 4 to 16 were invited to write poems about protecting and enjoying the Environment. A wide range of styles and language effects were used and the competition categories were written to fit in with the National Curriculum objectives for the summer term. Schools then choose the best ones to be submitted to the Green Festival Competition. These poems are published here. The winning schools won prizes donated by The Wildlife Trust, Peterborough City Council, Restore and the Environment Agency.
