Ottoline Brown lived in an apartment in the P. W. HUFFLEDINCK Tower; which looked like a pepper pot so everyone called it the Pepperpot Building.

Ottoline - the sometime librarian, archivist and expert amateur detective – is back!

Along with her very best friend Mr. Munroe (who is small and hairy and as everyone knows comes from a bog in Norway) she has foiled a notorious cat burglar, faced a haunted horse and seen the Abominable Troll of Trondheim, Quite Big Foot.

Now they’re mixed up with an enigmatic purple fox, who offers to take them on a night-time urban safari. The fox shows them all the hidden animals of the city and Ottoline makes notes on them in her field notebook.

Mr Munroe is making notes too - on the anonymous poems he finds stuck to lampposts on their journey.

Who is the secretive poet, and how can he and Ottoline help them mend their broken heart?

This brand new story from Children’s Laureate Chris Riddell includes a free fold-up-and-keep fortune teller device!

One of our favourite storytellers and a wizard with words and pictures, Chris Riddell’s ever-whirring imagination means he’s always scribbling and doodling with his life as Children’s Laureate chronicled in his unique online Laureate’s Log – a diary in daily illustrations; he’s even taken time to doodle on the walls of his local Waterstones. As well known for his own fiction for children, including the Ottoline and Goth Girl series, as he is for his many successful collaborative works, Chris Riddell is a tireless champion of reading and illustration in the modern age.
