The stories are hard to follow. The amount of small chapters and flip flopping between his accounts can sometimes interrupt the flow of the book. The last few chapters did not need to feature at all.
Having read Nicholas Shakespeare's encyclopaedic biography of Chatwin, I was curious to see what the fuss was about. And my what a read! A tour de force with beautiful descriptive passages but in parts tedious... More
