Once more elevating the picture book form into an emotionally affecting work of art, Browne’s heart-wrenching tale of a lonely girl, her neglectful dad and a magical night with the titular ape is a stone-cold children’s classic.
Celebrate 30 years of the classic award-winning picture book in this stunning new edition.
Hannah loves gorillas but has never seen one. Her father's too busy to take her to the zoo – or for anything else come to that. But then something extraordinary happens ... the toy turns into a real gorilla, who puts on her father's hat and coat and takes her off for a magical visit to the zoo...

Elevating the picture book form into an emotionally affecting work of art - Waterstones.com
I read this to my own children and now my grandchildren. Anthony Browne gets right to the hearts of children and the illustrations are wonderful.
