Shared by Ron Weasley because his fell apart

Good afternoon and welcome to your first Care of Magical Creatures lesson. I hope you all have the required reading material; you should all have your copy of Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them with you at all times to consult in case of emergency. This invaluable manual, compiled by revered expert Newt Scamander, has provided many a young witch and wizard with invaluable advice on what to do should you come face-to-face with a bloodthirsty Kappa or stampeding Erumpent.

I refer you to the guideline danger-ratings, as laid out by the Ministry of Magic for the safety and protection of wizarding pupils. Those such as the harmless lettuce-eating Flobberworm (x – boring) shouldn’t cause problems to any with more than a newt’s crotchet of intelligence. Some care should be taken when facing the moderately perilous Salander or Shrake (xxx – competent wizard should cope) but as long as you wear the protective clothing appropriate to their handling, you should survive without loss of limb.

Extreme caution should be exercised should you find yourself in the presence of a Chimaera or Acromantula (xxxxx – wizard killer), if you do find yourself in such an unfortunate predicament I suggest you consider running.

Right then, wands at the ready class? Excellent. Then we shall begin.

From the world of Harry Potter comes this unique guide to magical creatures, the inspiration for Warner Brother’s epic fantasy film. Now you can read J.K. Rowling's debut screenplay.
