Family Forever includes a DVD and discussion guide created to help child welfare systems in their struggle to improve outcomes for families and children. In 1992, The Annie E. Casey Foundation's Family to Family Initiative envisioned, among other system-wide changes, foster care reforms that would focus on changes that supported a more family-focused approach. As part of that reform, Prince George's County (MD) Department of Social Services developed this training film and discussion guide. The guide gives background information on family-focused foster care, the families featured in the video, the changing roles of the people involved, and gives clear how-to ""Steps Along The Way"" for each family team member. The DVD helps illustrate and add fullness to the relationships of birth parents, foster parents, and social workers.
