Following the success of the first volume of "English Heritage Historical Review", the second volume will be published in September 2007. Volume II includes papers on a newly discovered plan of Kenilworth Castle, from about 1570; the research being carried out by English Heritage on the important, but largely unknown Apethorpe Hall; the gift of Old Master paintings made to the Duke of Wellington by King Ferdinand of Spain, on display at Apsley House; and Henry Winstanley's water theatre in the grounds of his house at Audley End, Essex. Other papers discuss the attribution of the design of Ranger's House, Blackheath, re-examine the status of some well-known designs for Sutton Scarsdale, Derbyshire, and provide the first-ever account of the massive 19th-century fortifications on the Western Heights of Dover.
