Dermatology: A Colour Handbook, Second Edition - Medical Color Handbook Series (Paperback)
Richard Rycroft (author), Stuart Robertson (author), Sarah Wakelin (author)Published: 15/01/2010
This book combines the advantages of a color atlas with those of a concise textbook, and details the essential features of all but the very rarest skin diseases. The book provides the definition of each disease/disorder, clinical features, epidemiology, differential diagnosis, investigations and special points. Every opportunity is taken to illustrate variations in conditions that occur with age or racial group.

MEDIA REVIEWS
The photos are absolutely fantastic: really clear and original. This little book really packs in an amazing quantity and variety of photos. I like the size of the book: it's easy to carry in a work bag. The layout is very clear with the text broken up into small easily digestible chunks. I love this book: the photos are superb, the text is concise and clear. A vast spectrum of dermatological conditions are covered in a very concise format. This book is now my first choice dermatology reference book to aid spot diagnosis of skin conditions. I would highly recommend it to GP registrars as a revision aid for the MRCGP.

...comprehensive and reasonably priced... The quality of the colour photographs is really excellent... as good as any I have seen... compact and consistent layout... makes the book very user friendly , ideal for cramming or speed reading... A really first class book for the doctor who wants to get an overview of the wider range of less common dermatological problems... a strong recommend for the entry level dermatology trainee and MRCP students, and a worthy addition to the practice library
—Stephen Hayes, Bulletin, August 2010
I am very impressed with this jolly good little book... At £25 for 500 high quality pictures it is excellent value for money. It was the correct decision
to add more text to cover the basic treatment of the conditions that were illustrated because it now completely meets the needs of the target audience – those starting out in dermatological training, whether doctors or nurses – as well as more experienced health professionals in other disciplines, including general practice and occupational health. There is no need to buy more than one book.
—Chris Bunker, British Journal of Hospital Medicine, October 2010
Praise for the Previous Edition:
…combines high quality pictures with easy-to-read text, thus making this book of far greater value than an atlas alone…highly recommended to practitioners with an interest in dermatology, medical students and trainees in dermatology.
