Volume 1 includes camelias, pelargoniums, fuchsias, magnolias, euphorbias, hibiscus and bourgainvillaea, as well as tender roses and other select groups. All these plants grow outdoors in Mediterranean or subtropical climates and most of them need the shelter of a cool greenhouse or conservatory in areas that have frost in winter, a few need heat.
