Health visitors have a vital part to play in protecting children from abuse. Because they work so closely with families in their own homes and in community settings, they are uniquely placed both to prevent abuse through supporting parents and to observe early danger signals when abuse does occur. But to help them work effectively, health visitors need carefully targeted training and support. It is this need which "Child Protection for Health Visitors" aims to fulfil. Containing activities which can be combined into programmes of varying lengths to suit the training needs and circumstances of particular groups, this resource pack offers health visitors a way of developing their skills that complements the interagency training which they should already have received.
