The publication of this book makes available once more the important work carried out by the Swedish archaeologist Sigvald Linne (1899-1986) on the site of Xolalpan, part of the Teotihuacan complex in Mexico. Originally published in 1934, and now with a new foreword by Staffan Brunius and an introduction by George L Cowgill, Linne's account of the excavation and finds was one of the first investigations in this field to examine a domestic residence away from the major pyramids which had been the focus of so much attention. The progress of the excavation, the graves that were uncovered, as well as the range of finds recovered, including utilitarian ceramics, incense burners, spindle whorls, clay and stone objects, figurines and bone artefacts, are all discussed by Linne.

MEDIA REVIEWS
"[With this work], Linne has made available a wealth of data on one of the New World's most significant archaeological sites and illuminated them with his searching and thoughtful comments and interpretations.... A must for all who are interested in America's high cultures."
"The lasting importance of both volumes is the clearly written descriptive data on the architecture, the artifacts, and their contexts. Both volumes are excellent additions to collections in Mesoamerican archaeology, including libraries that have the original editions, because of the new introductory sections." "Choice"
