This book is a comprehensive guide to the collections of Knock Museum. It is a quality publication presenting the treasures of Knock Museum based on the new and exciting exhibition which tells the compelling story of the Knock Apparition of 1879. The book is a combination of photographs, objects, information and transcripts of pilgrims' stories that together offer a unique interpretation of the Knock story. It includes one of the original hand-written accounts of the Apparition which is published for the first time in this book. It also includes extracts from interviews conducted in the museum of pilgrims sharing their memories of Knock showing the increased museum focus on collecting intangible heritage. An original photograph of Knock from the Wynne Photographic Collection dating to 1880 is included thus increasing public access to this unique photographic collection. The guidebook is designed by leading graphic designer Wendy Williams and will act as a guide for visitors as they tour the exhibition and also as a souvenir and historical reference post-visit.
