A Gold Medal is a Wonderful Thing: 367 daily meditations of philosophy and motivation, inspired by film (Hardback)Matt Main (author)
The premise and design of the book is simple. 367 pages, one for each day of the year. Heading each page is a film quote using classic soundbites from movies throughout the years, and some from more obscure works. Following each is an interpretation of the preceding quote, with an extracted meaning to benefit the reader.
The purpose of each daily meditation is two-fold; to provide a daily shot of inspiration and ask probing philosophical questions. Multiple themes and motifs appear throughout the pages. Life, death and making sense of it all. Love and relationships, their power and purpose. Musings on epistemology and truth.
Above all, the author seeks to bestow a little love and light upon the reader using a medium that most are familiar with, and in a way that is both fun and interesting.
