Fast-moving and very funny - Evening StandardThe Monty Python of the spaceways - Daily TelegraphTruly breathtaking - Times Literary SupplementEndlessly inventive and studded end to end with laugh-out-loud hilarity. What Terry Pratchett has done for fantasy, Harry Harrison did resoundingly for SF. His Stainless Steel Rat storms the barricades of po-faced Golden Age SF with laughing gas grenades and rams an explosive charge right up its complacent rock-ribbed arse.Abounding in quick action and quicker jokes...The Stainless Steel Rat series shows Harrison's talents to the best advantage - Science Fiction Review

“Great fun”
This is the original rat book and it was the Harrison book I read. I was about 14 and found the story and characters appealed to my tastes at the time. This was a good and it's a book I enjoyed.
