'I devoured The Poison Garden . . . Gripping and utterly convincing, it's Alex Marwood at the top of her (already impressive) game' JOJO MOYES
_________

Where Romy grew up, if someone died you never spoke of them again.

Now twenty-two, she has recently escaped the toxic confines of the cult she was raised in. But Romy is young, pregnant and completely alone - and if she is to keep herself safe in this new world, she has some important lessons to learn.

Like how there are some people you can trust, and some you must fear. And about who her family really is, and why her mother ran away from them all those years ago.

And that you can't walk away from a dark past without expecting it to catch up with you...

Shocking, tense and sharply written, The Poison Garden is the gripping new novel from the international bestseller and Edgar award-winning Alex Marwood.

MEDIA REVIEWS
Highly imaginative, yet consistently believable, this wonderful dystopian novel is both terrifying and unsettling as if a harbinger for our times. A well written and thrilling read Marwood is one of the superstars of UK crime fiction and this pitch-black novel, which tackles the fallout from a mass suicide, is one of her best This superbly eerie psychological thriller confirms Alex Marwood's reputation as the Queen of Unease I devoured The Poison Garden . . . Gripping and utterly convincing, it's Alex Marwood at the top of her (already impressive) game Highly imaginative, full of pace and appealing characters, The Poison Garden is one of the cleverest and most chilling thrillers of recent years Suspenseful and distinctive, The Poison Garden is a powerful and character-driven study of obsession Absolutely chilling. Alex Marwood's characters are hauntingly real - evil is always just below the surface. Another brilliant, shockingly dark book from a master storyteller Dark and shocking, this will chill you to the bone Gripping... an Edgar winner for her The Wicked Girls, Marwood again shows a mastery at creating new worlds Marwood's novels offer superbly executed masterclasses in compelling and stupendously creepy mysteries

“Her best novel yet!”

I have to be extremely careful to avoid spoilers here as this is a book I would want as many lovers of thrillers, dark suspense and horror to read without knowing where they are going.

“Gripping, well researched, expertly told”

Quite a departure from her usual and to be honest I put it down after a few chapters the first time around -- BUT Alex Marwood, it was me not you!!
