An Interstellar Collection of Moon Books for Children

Posted on 11th July 2019 by Mark Skinner

Whether you believe that a man lives in it, a cow jumps over it or that it is, in fact, made entirely out of cheese, there is no denying the magical pull of the Moon. Our love of all things lunar starts early in life, with nursery rhymes, fables and comforting bedtime reads (who can forget the evergreen Goodnight Moon?) instilling a sense of mystery and awe about that luminous crescent in the night sky.

This month marks 50 years since the Apollo 11 space craft landed on the Moon’s surface and Neil Armstrong’s immortal phrase – ‘one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind’ – became embedded in billions of minds all over the globe. To celebrate the anniversary of the game-changing interstellar event we have pulled together some of the very best books about the Moon for younger readers. Be they fact or fiction, board book or pop-up, they all make our very special literary countdown.

All together now….

5-4-3-2-1-Blast off!!!
