The creator of one of literature’s most fascinating, terrifying and influential antiheroes - the cannibalistic serial killer Dr. Hannibal Lecter - American novelist Thomas Harris worked as a journalist before publishing his first novel, Black Sunday. He introduced Hannibal Lecter in the novel Red Dragon but the character became a household name after the sequel, The Silence of the Lambs, was adapted into an Oscar-winning film. Harris later returned to Lecter’s story in the novels Hannibal and Hannibal Rising. His latest novel, Cari Mora, - Harris’s first in 13 years - was published in 2019.
