Rainbow Rowell is an American novelist, who has written both contemporary and Young Adult fiction. Rowell began writing her first novel, Attachments, whilst working as a columnist for an Omaha newspaper and, after a two year hiatus to look after her baby girl, the novel was finally finished and published to significant acclaim in 2011. Rowell followed up with two Young Adult novels, Fangirl and Eleanor and Park, the latter attracting controversy for the supposed profanity of some of the dialogue. An exercise in meta-fiction, 2015’s Carry On, is a novel first referenced within the fictional world of Fangirl. The success of this unconventional spin-off led to Rowell penning a sequel, Wayward Son, which will be published in October 2019.
A pulsating conclusion to Rowell’s bestselling Simon Snow series, Any Way the Wind Blows finds the gang back in England and contemplating friendship, the future and the end of the world.
