The "Irish cooking queen"...
Rachel Allen is an Irish TV chef and cookery writer. She left her home in Dublin at 18 to study at the Ballymaloe Cookery School, and afterwards began her career in cookery. She worked at the Ballymaloe House Hotel before a spell as a caterer in Vancouver, later returning to teach at the school.
She writes regularly for a number of Irish publications including the Sunday Tribune and BBC Good Food and can be seen on a whole host of British and Irish cookery programmes. The BBC has described her as an "Irish cooking queen", and Good Food magazine has said she "put Irish cooking on the map in recent years." She's also hosted several successful cookery series'.
She currently lives in County Cork with her husband and children.
