Monty Don is a British gardener, television personality and author, best known as the presenter of Gardener’s World.
After the jewellery business that he ran with his wife closed in the early 1990s, Don focused on his passion for and knowledge of gardening, becoming the Observer’s gardening editor in 1994. In 2003, he succeeded Alan Titchmarsh as presenter of the evergreen BBC gardening programme, Gardener’s World, and since 2006, the show has been broadcast from Don’s own garden, Longmeadow, in Herefordshire.
He has written numerous books on gardening as well as one about his beloved pet dog Nigel.
