Martina Cole

Martina Cole was born and brought up in Essex on a similar council estate as to where many of her books are set. She wrote her first novel, Dangerous Lady, when she was twenty but didn't do anything with it until ten years later. Since then she has written a book nearly every year, almost every single one of which has topped the bestseller charts. Her novels have been adapted into both television programmes and stage plays.
