John Harvey biography and information

John Harvey taught English and Drama in various secondary schools for twelve years before turning to full-time writing. He rode the pulp boom for several years in the mid- to late-70s, writing some fifty paperback westerns and a bunch of other things, before branching out into television and radio drama and, as publisher and editor, running Slow Dancer Press from 1977 to 1999. Lonely Hearts, the first novel featuring Nottingham-based police detective, Charlie Resnick, was published in 1989 and was named by The Times as one of the 100 Most Notable Crime Novels of the last century.
