Since his debut Stormdancer in 2012, Jay Kristoff has wasted no time in building several distinct – and highly successful - fantasy universes. A graduate of that circle of authors who cut their fantasy teeth on role playing gaming, Kristoff largely orientates his work toward a YA audience and has gained a very faithful band of followers.
Stormdancer became the founding tale in his Lotus War Trilogy, a series fusing elements of steampunk with themes of feudal Japan. This sequence was followed by the Illuminae Files, co-written by fellow Australian Amie Kaufman, a trilogy tossing aside fantasy for vivid, far-future science fiction; the ‘part Romeo and Juliet, part Mad Max’ of his Lifelike series; and Kristoff’s Nevernight trilogy, his return to pure fantasy which perhaps more than any other of his novels has risen to be his signature, global success.
The pulsating sequel to Kristoff's mega-selling Empire of the Vampire sets Gabriel and the Grail off on a thrilling quest to destroy the Daysdeath once and for all..
