Fredrik Backman
Fredrick Backman is a bestselling Swedish author, columnist and blogger whose books have been published in over forty countries. He grew up in Helsingborg and has worked as a journalist for Swedish newspapers and magazines.
In 2012, Backman published his debut novel, A Man Called Ove, which went onto become an international bestseller translated into over twenty-five languages. 2015 saw the arrival of an eponymous Swedish film adaption, and in 2022 the novel was adapted in the United States under the name A Man Called Otto, starring Tom Hanks. Backman’s other bestselling works include the novella And Every Morning the Way Home Gets Longer and Longer (2016); part-memoir, part-parenting guide Things My Son Needs to Know About the World (2019); and the Beartown trilogy consisting of Beartown (2017), Us Against You (2018) and The Winners (2022).
